Logitech Z-5500 Digital speakers, a THX-certified, 500-watt 5.1 surround sound speaker system offers everything you could possibly want… and some things you didn't even know you needed. And once you plug in your PC, DVD or music player, or video game console, you'll never want to listen to anything else.
Z-5500 Digital Speaker System Logitech claims that thier new system provides an output at a very impressive 505 watts (RMS), with 62 watts going to each of its surround satellites, 69 watts dedicated to the center, and 188 watts allocated to the behemoth subwoofer's 10-inch driver. Although the sub, which houses the system's amp, is a front-firing type, a big bass port contributes to its tendency towards occasional sloppiness. When doing a comparison, the Z-680 utilized a smaller 8-inch sub driver but still had the same amount of amplifier power.
The speaker system offers powerful, distortion-free bass, with a large 10-inch long-throw subwoofer driver with a flared bass port, which delivers 188 watts of thunderous audio. The system's innovative driver technology also extends to the polished-aluminum phase-plug satellites, which combine two drivers into one, offering the clarity of a tweeter with the richness and fullness of a separate mid-range. In addition, the Z-5500's digital equalization adjusts the frequency response in real time for the cleanest, most accurate sound reproduction.
The Z-5500 generally sells across the internet for about $300.00 to $400.
